Assist EFAA in serving participants in an efficient and effective manner. Greet participants and visitors and assist with directing traffic in our main lobby. Volunteers also help manage sign in for the food pantry, answer incoming phone calls, schedule appointments, liaise with case managers and intake volunteers and perform general office duties, as needed. Spanish speaking volunteers are needed in addition to English speaking volunteers. Volunteers 18 years and older will be required to pass a background check.
Patience, compassion, organization and ability to give and follow directions are required. Must be able to maintain a calm demeanor and adapt to a busy and sometimes chaotic environment. Ability to navigate web based software is essential. Spanish speaking ability is helpful.
Training requirements for this position include ~3-6 hours 1:1 training + 6 – 9 hours shadow/reverse shadow training before volunteers can manage a front desk shift on their own.
Time Commitment: 3-5 hours per week for at least six months .
