A Little Help is looking for volunteers that would be interested in providing rides for older adult neighbors for round-trip or one-way errands such as medical appointments, grocery, personal shopping and social & educational outings. Giving a ride can often be the most impactful thing that a volunteer can do for an older adult. For our members who cannot drive anymore, the loss of independence can be very demoralizing and constraining. The lack of options for public transportation is also challenging. That’s where you can come in to provide that transport and connection in the process. You will strengthen our sense of community and might also meet a new friend.
By providing door-to-door transportation, you will be providing an essential service that assists older adults to continue to live independently in their homes while preserving their sense of identity, well-being, health, and life-long routines.
