About
Tabletop Adventures is an exciting first foray into Tabletop Role Playing Games (like Dungeons and Dragons) for children in 2nd-4th grade. This program helps foster community and introduces new information and a potential new passion to kids.
The kids and adult volunteers will work together to create and solve a self-contained story which may end up taking many different, unexpected turns.
Volunteers will:
- Attend a 30-minute training with librarian Neil before the shift starts
- Help set up and clean up the space
- Offer a kind, welcoming, friendly presence to all participants
- Run a self-contained DnD-esque adventure (Sodalitas) for kids in 2nd to 4th grade.
Helpful but not required: A creative imagination and prior experience working with kids or tabletop gaming.
Required: Ability to be kind and welcoming to all patrons, follow verbal instructions, work collaboratively with library staff, and follow safety procedures.
Training will include: A run-through of the game system and a shortened sample game led by Neil.
