Join a Denver Digs Trees volunteer canvassing team and walk low-canopy neighborhoods in Denver to distribute informational doorhangers where trees are needed most. We'll meet as a group, and then head out in pairs. It's easy and fun! Free hot coffee and light snack provided. You’ll leave doorhangers to encourage residents to apply for free and low-cost trees to plant near their homes. These trees will grow to cool our neighborhoods, help us conserve energy, filter air pollution, provide habitat for wildlife, beautify our neighborhoods, and reduce greenhouse gases! Applications for our spring tree distribution are due Feb 15, so we need to spread the word now. You'll help the environment and our local community by letting people know about this wonderful opportunity to get free and low-cost trees. It’s also a great way to get to know many of Denver's neighborhoods and enjoy the outdoors. Group canvasses are occurring in the neighborhoods and dates/times below: - NE Park Hill Neighborhood - January 12th, 9am-noon - East Colfax Neighborhood - January 19th, 9am-noon - Athmar Park Neighborhood - January 26th, 9am-noon** **This is a knock & talk opportunity! Learn and practice community engagement in the Athmar Park neighborhood! Sign up here: https://goo.gl/forms/4TBfKEXxruQigZXE2
