About
Mission Statement: Through compassion based education and animal rescue, we are changing the perception of how horses are trained and animals are treated. Our Animal-Assisted learning programs are partnership based, where the animals and humans meet in an equal partnership.
Help Zuma's by caring for our Equine Therapy Partners once destined for a slaughter plant. With over 50 rescued animals in our herd, and many children that look to Zuma's every day for assistance in our complicated world, there is always a need for volunteers of all kinds at the ranch. We have several buildings, miles of fencing and lots of mechanical equipment that we need help maintaining.
- Help with every day barn chores including mucking stalls and paddocks, stuffing hay bags, and making fencing repairs.
- Join a Committee - Events, Fundraising, Facilities, Mental Health
- Mentor an At Risk Child in our Experiential Learning Center.
- Run a mower or a weed whipper on our 126 acres.
- Craft Our Zuma's Luck Horse Shoes.
The ranch is located near Chatfield State Park and is just 7 miles south of the Mineral Light Rail Station in Littleton. Come out for a two hour shift or come for a day, we will have plenty of ways for you to get involved in giving back.
Orientation is held the 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month from 10a - 12p.
