December Clean Lady Bird Lake

Greetings Volunteers, we’d like to thank you for volunteering with Keep Austin Beautiful and Rowing Dock. You'll be working on giving some extra care to the lake and trails of our beloved Lady Bird Lake. You have signed up to participate in the Rowing Dock cleanup. Kayaks will be provided at this location. If you are not looking to go out on the water please sign up for a shoreline cleanup at a different location and, we'll have you focus on litter abatement along the hike & bike trail. 

Your Lake Leader for this site will be Todd Carson and he will have your cleanup supplies, helpful safety guidelines, and further instructions for you.

Parking: Parking is available in the lot on site. 

Things to Bring: A FULL bottle of water, a hat, & snack

“Know Before You Go”

Before you head out, please keep the following in mind:

• Be aware that toxic algae blooms can occur in Lady Bird Lake. Whenever you're around natural bodies of water, remain vigilant.
• Recognize that zebra mussels are invasive and widespread in Texas waterways. Let us know if you see any zebra mussels during your volunteer activity. 
• Be able to identify poison ivy, oak, and sumac; identifying these plants is essential for a safe cleanup.
• Hydrate and take precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses. Consult this guide for tips on recognizing and addressing heat-related issues.
