Volunteers will assist in sorting, cleaning and repackaging donated personal care items for our client community. Many of our clients receive SNAP benefits which don't cover purchases for personal care items (soap, shampoo, etc.), so we source leftover inventory from local hotels to provide our clients access to these essential items.
We have a variety of housekeeping tasks at the pantry that need group volunteer support, including (but not limited too), washing produce bins, cleaning up the area in and around the pantry, sorting inventory and more.
When volunteers arrive, plan to park around the backside of our building and ring the back doorbell. We are fairly limited on parking, so if there is any way for volunteers to carpool or take alternative transportation, it would really help us save valuable parking space for our daily clients.
Make sure to wear closed toed shoes and comfortable clothing appropriate for a warehouse environment that are ok to get a little dirty. If the weather cooperates, we'll likely be working outside so make sure to bring adequate sun protection and water to stay hydrated.
