Redlining was the federal government's deliberate, discriminatory practice of denying home loans to residents in neighborhoods that predominately housed immigrants or populations of color. Though redlining may seem like a thing of the past, it's an issue that still occurs today. Even in communities where it's no longer common practice, the impact of its existence are still easily felt and seen.
