Description: Make Someone’s Day a Little Brighter- Write a positive note to a resident at our Homeless Shelter. Throughout the year The Salvation Army serves up to 250 men per night who seek shelter and hope at our Crossroads Center. Individuals suffering from homelessness often feel left out and isolated from their community. Today, we invite you to help give them more than just the essential needs of food and shelter, but to help bring them joy, hope, and a sense of belonging. We are asking volunteers to write a letter to a client at our Men’s Homeless Shelter to put a smile on their face and to let them know that they are loved and not forgotten about by their community. Not sure what to write? When you sign up, you’ll be provided with sample materials for inspiration. Want to teach your children about homelessness? Get your kids involved by having them write a short positive message like “Have a great day!” or coloring a page in coloring book to lift someone’s spirits. Please reach out to Regina Leeson for more information on how to get started on this project!
