Transition is a very dynamic part of the race course, as it is the area where athletes “transition” from either swim-to-bike, or bike-to-run. As a transition volunteer, you will be one of the first volunteers to arrive on-site. Duties include: assisting athletes with set-up of their transition area; communicating proper bike-racking protocol; directing athletes to the proper entrances and exits of transition; keeping transition clear of spectators and non-competing athletes; maintaining crowd control in the areas directly outside transition; and managing the area where athletes mount/dismount their bikes.
