Our first and foremost priority at all times during the race is athlete safety. As a swim course volunteer, you will work alongside the Lifetime Athletic Events water safety team in making sure each athlete has a safe experience along the swim course, whether the swim portion takes place in open water or in a pool. Duties for swim course may include: lining up athletes along the pool deck or shore in wave order; directing athlete traffic to or from the swim course; reminding athletes of water-safety rules and/or repeating important instructions; assisting athletes get out of the water; keeping spectators clear of athlete area.
