Shift Details

Shift NameClothes to Kids of Denver
Description: Volunteers are needed to support the following store activities.
Shopping Assistants: These volunteers work directly with the families we serve by greeting shoppers, helping them find the school clothes they need for their children and checking them out when they are done shopping. This is a customer service position that requires a great deal of empathy, kindness and patience with our shoppers who often are in challenging circumstances and sometimes don't speak English.
Donation Sorting: These volunteers process incoming donations by sorting, tagging, sizing and hanging clothing needed to restock the store. This position requires great attention to detail to make sure we are outfitting the students we serve with high quality clothing. This role is essential to keeping the store fully stocked which gives our shoppers the most variety to meet their needs.
Assemble Wardrobes: Volunteers may also assemble wardrobes for our curbside service which includes selecting appropriate items to meet the preferences and sizes of students who are not able to shop in person.

Requirements: Volunteers will be on their feet for the duration of their shift and should wear comfortable shoes and dress in layers. Volunteers should be prepared for some light to moderate lifting.
Parking: CTKD is located in the University Hills South Shopping Center at 2890 S. Colorado Blvd., 80222 (cross street is Amherst). It is the plaza with Walgreens and Sprouts Market. Our store is tucked into the corner of the shopping plaza and can be tricky to find. The entrance to the store is directly across from the entrance to the Chez Artiste Theater. There is ample parking in the shopping plaza lot but be aware that a few parking spots are reserved for other businesses so be sure to read the signs.
