2026 Big Sugar Classic (MTB & Gravel)

These course marshals must be 18+ and you'll be in stationed in the downtown Bentonville area close to The Momentary. Please text Bronwen at 214.906.0623 once in place.

This morning, we'll have you go straight to your assigned intersections and then text Bronwen at 214.906.0623 once you are in place. We'd encourage you to bring a chair, lots of snacks and water, etc. You'll have a lot of down time and a lot of time standing, explaining the closed course to drivers, once cyclists start making their way to the finish. You'll see your elite riders very early, then there'll be some down time before the amateurs start rolling through. Please wear bring colors, wear a whistle or anything that is a good attention grabber. You are totally good to swing by the Volunteer HQ at The Mo to grab your high visibility green t-shirt before your shift and then bike on over to your spot (being on bike this morning is a great idea).

Do know that ALL three courses finish the same way through Downtown and please be in position no later than 9 am. Thank you!

Here are assignments:

1) Dave: Positioned at SE A St. and SE 3rd St. SE 3rd St. gets busy and this is where cyclists take a left on to SE A St (after moving west on SE 3rd St) for their second to last turn on course.

2) Soda Pop: Positioned at SE 3rd St. and SE F St. Good to know that SE F St. is a weird little wiggle where it's the same street, but two different intersections, it's my neighborhood and right where construction is. Most drivers are on F St. coming South from Central Ave. Cyclists take a hard / sharp right onto SE 3rd Street (off of F St), you'll help drivers stay off course from all angles here, have them turn around, or take F East over to J Street.

3) Stephanie: Positioned at NE F St. and NE F Street. Important spot a block north of Central. People heading to and from Downtown, toward J Street and Orchards Park, Crystal B, etc. Cyclists here take a right on F Street, after moving East on NE 2nd street to get them away from Downtown.
