Quail Campus Community Park Project with the City of Longmont
Shift Details
Shift Name | Quail Campus Community Park Project with the City of Longmont |
---|---|
Description | On Friday, April 21, Mile High United Way is recognizing both National Volunteer Week and Earth Day with simultaneous volunteer projects that will be hosted by nonprofit partner organizations at multiple locations. Be a part of this day of impact by registering for one of the many projects! Description: The City of Longmont maintains hundreds of trees and ornamental planting beds throughout the city. Each year, the City applies mulch to these areas in order to keep the trees and plants healthy. Mulching correctly around trees and planting beds protects plants from soil moisture evaporation and allows the City to use less water to keep our trees and plant beds thriving, healthy, and beautiful. At this event, we will apply mulch in landscape beds around Quail Campus including the park, museum, rec center, and tennis courts. Requirements: Please bring 32 oz of water and wear sunscreen, sunglasses, close toed shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing. Day of Project Contact: Taylor Gifford, taylor.gifford@longmontcolorado.gov, 720-841-7488 For registration questions and changes, please contact the volunteer team at Mile High United Way at volunteer@unitedwaydenver.org. |
