    First-year Interest Groups (FIGs) - Fall 2016

In my FIG, we created Thanksgiving cards for the Austin Retirment and Nursing Center and the residents that live there. We are delivering the cards on Saturday and I cannot wait to meet all the residents!

    First-year Interest Groups (FIGs) - Fall 2016

I volunteered at the University of Texas Microfarm for two hours. I planted vegetables, weeded the fields, learned how to compost, and harvested food that is sold to local restaurants and the UT campus.

    International Markets

I attended Greek Getdown, a philanthropy event hosted by Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority, benefitting EGPAF, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, the Ronald McDonald house, and the Girl Scout's of America. The event was a dance competition among sororities in which whoever won, the money raised from the event went to these philanthropies. I was there for 1 hour and donated $15!
