Onion Creek Greenbelt Cleanup with Austin Park Rangers

It was a perfect day to have Park Day! There a good number of volunteers and hope to see more neighborhood residents engage. It was nice to meet patrons of the park willing to help when they found out it was a clean up event for the park. I am born and raised in Austin and would like for Onion creek to be regularly patrolled by Park Rangers for cleanup. Unfortunately this park has become a major illegal dumping site tor all types of trash. On side where the Onion Creek residents use to live, I always see construction and remodeling trash as well as furniture and regular bags of trash dumped here. I would like for my tax paying dollars go to the City of Austin keeping up my neighborhood park maintained and clean. Can I speak with someone about a regularly scheduled trash pick up at Onion Creek? Also, I see City of Austin workers at Onion Creek Park in there issued trucks eating and napping here in these vehicles. Everyone deserves lunch time but my point is they visually see the illegal dumped trash in the park so please document it and call it in. Have city worker staff come pick up all the iillegal dumped trash and have regularly echeduled visits for monitoring and maintenance of Onion Creek. I come to this park weekly and see all the trash thruout the park and would like to see some improvement. I know for fact if this was happening at Pease Park or Red Bud trail in west Austin this would be addressed immediately. I will contact local media if necessary to get this on the news. Please be good stewards of your resources and improve to keep Onion Creek Park a beautiful, safe space for your citizens to enjoy.

I always love seeing people giving back to their community and leaving it a Park better than when they found it
