Volunteering at St. Ignatius Loyola Academy, a Jesuit college preparatory middle school in Baltimore City, an institution dedicated to serving low-income students, has been an enriching and eye-opening experience. This school, nestled in the heart of the city, offers a beacon of hope and quality education to its young learners. My role as a volunteer involved a variety of tasks aimed at enhancing the educational experience of these students. I spent time grading papers, providing the necessary support to keep the academic process efficient and timely. More intimately, I engaged in one-on-one tutoring, offering personalized assistance to students who needed extra help. Additionally, I had the opportunity to oversee classrooms, ensuring a conducive learning environment, and even stepped into the role of an educator. I taught a few science lessons focusing on air pollution and basic chemistry, topics crucial for young minds in an urban setting, enriching their understanding of both their immediate environment and fundamental scientific concepts.
Charm city Aggies along with ‘sister 2 sister’ crafted and delivered boxes with presents in them. These boxes were hand made with notes inside delivered to children and mothers who could really use them during this holiday season.

This event gave me an idea for one of my organizations at my university to assist with after school sports.
