The presentation was on of the better ones I have heard in the last couple of years. The visual of the gears along with the explanation of specific impacts of racial discrimination and inequities for Black American's is clear. I am always glad to hear people saying, "I see it. I get it. Now what?" I know a lot of people who are asking what they can do individually and collectively. I hope United Way will lead in answering that question and providing opportunities for people to join in the effort to correct systems and to spread the word in their own sphere of influence.
It is powerful to hear about the impact of systemic racism several times from various presenters and from multiple vantage points. The reminder of the blatant disregard of the humanity of people of color over the decades even until today should be a call of action for every human. Thank you for keeping the conversations going. Knowledge and acknowledgement, as painful as they may be sometimes, inspire me to be a catalyst for action which will lead to change.
