I love all the staff at MUHW. They are all so friendly and knowledgeable.
I enjoyed working with two different young adults. One was in person, and one was via a video call. We talked about how to enroll in college and how to get a resume going when you don't have a lot of current work experience.
I helped a participant refine his resume. He brought in a draft that was really good. He's quite articulate and self-aware. We made minor grammatical updates and quantified some of his skills. I so enjoyed my time working with him and hope to see him again. He is very motivated to get a job and being productive. I wish him all the best.
The young women I was working with was lovely and easy to work with. I helped her with come Kahn Academy practice questions. She and I figured out some answers together and then she did more on her own. She said she had a better understanding after working with me. She is taking her GED math test, and I am eager to know how she does!
Filling each bag went faster than I expected considering each bag had 16-18 items in it. Writing notes of encouragement was a pleasant bonus. It was great to be able to include a personal note in each bag. After the event, I used the MHUW list to create a Thanksgiving meal kit for a neighbor. Thanks for making it so easy!
