It was a wonderful experience to assist with the North Cobb Regional Library’s yearly garden cleanup and touch up for the spring season. We cleared out any dead or old plants and weeds, then added new soil and spread mulch around the plant beds and rest of the garden. We even created a walk/pathway to the garden! I had a great time knowing that I am making a difference in the local community by being involved in something very meaningful and valuable to everyone. I can’t already wait for next year’s Day of Service!

I volunteered at the North Cobb Regional Library for the 2025 KSU Day of Service. Myself and the other volunteers were tasked with clearing and pulling weeds, digging dirt, and pouring new compost in areas of the garden that will be used to grow various vegetables and flowers. It was a valuable learning experience for me and the other volunteers on how a garden is maintained each year in time for the growing season.

I had a wonderful time and experience while serving at Smith-Gilbert Gardens for KSU Day of Service. Some of the tasks our group did included plucking out dead flowers/plants and weeds from the ground, planting flowers, mulching, creating new pathways and trails, and helping out with tasks in various plant exhibits. Everyone at Smith-Gilbert Gardens was very helpful and showed us around when we first got there and explained directions well. I would participate in KSU Days of Service again!

I had a great time volunteering with the Good Mews Animal Foundation for the 2023 KSU Day of Service. Some of the activities we did include spreading out pine straw across the building and property, as well as washing the windows. After we finished our assigned tasks, we even got the last 45 minutes to spend time inside with the numerous cats they had so that was an added bonus! I enjoyed it very much and would gladly do it again!

I am glad I signed up for this event! We separated the donations by different categories and then sorted them by expiration dates. I would definitely do an event like this in the future. I am happy that I could help with CARE Services as they do a wonderful job in the pantry!
