Overall, I really enjoyed going over to Hope Lodge. I provided a meal with the service sorority, Epsilon Sigma Alpha. It was a very eye-opening experience. Hope Lodge's primary goal is to provide a welcoming and warm experience for those receiving cancer treatments and ensure those supporting them are taken care of. The facility is well taken care of, and all the staff are caring. I am glad I was able to be a part of this experience and was able to communicate with a few of the patients there.

This service activity was a lot of fun. Many of us that showed up to volunteer woke up before 5 am to come volunteer. This helped us bond together. I got to know a lot of the Rotaract members. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would love to do it again. The service activity involved making pancakes along with other breakfast items. My involvement included stationing myself on the pancake cooker and continuing to refill the batter and help cook the pancakes.

Overall, the experience allowed me to reflect and be grateful for what I have. There were times in my childhood when the money was low, but it was never to the point which I did not have food on the table. It puts it into perspective that you might have it wrong, but not nearly as bad as others.
