Assisted Ms. Johnson-Offord's classroom
I helped with the Sedgefield Halloween Party for the first and second graders. I helped set up for the event, and I handed out snacks to the children. I enjoyed my time because I was able to see students and teachers that I previously meet.
During my time volunteering at Sedgefield Elementary, I helped Ms. Johnson-Offord's Kindergarten class. I helped her organize the students previous assignments, and helped label books for the students. Furthermore, I got to know Ms.Johnson-Offord and her children; I hope to see her and her class again!
I attended the Out of Garden food drive with MAPS and members. I enjoyed my time getting to know more about the Out of Garden Project, and their mission. During my time volunteering, I helped separate and bag food for families in need, and learned how this opportunity helps provides food for families and may provide a financial relief for any families who may not be able to afford food for their families. I am super excited for MAPS to do another volunteer similar to or continue with the Out of Garden Project.
I volunteered at Sedgefield Elementary School, and I helped out Ms. Anderson's 5th grade class. I helped students read and math problems. These opportunities allowed me to reflect on my times in elementary school, and I felt that I was able to connect and understand kids who were shy and to themselves. I see these volunteering opportunities as a time to listen and communicate to children, while also teaching them how to flourish independently.
I volunteered at the Sedgefield Elementary School, and I was able to help out a Ms. Anderson’s first grade class. I helped the kids with their math class work, and interacted with them during their gym and music class. I also was able to spend time with them during lunch time.
I had a great time volunteering with the kids. I loved getting to know the kids, and enjoyed knowing that I was able to make the teachers work load a bit lighter.
Helped set up for PPSP conference, and helped students check in to the conference. The PPSP conference allowed me to network with those who are pursuing or have pursued the same field as me.
Today I participated at the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service, and during my time I meet different non-profit organizations and learned more about them and their volunteer opportunities. I also made no sew blankets, first aid kits, and greeting cards. I enjoyed my time volunteering and doing service for our community.
