Volunteering for the plot beautification with Epsilon Pi Tau was simple but really rewarding. We cleaned up the area, refreshed the space, and made it something our organization can be proud of. It felt good working alongside everyone, laughing, talking, and seeing our progress come together. It reminded me that giving back doesn’t always have to be a huge project, sometimes just showing up and putting in the effort makes a real difference!

Volunteering at Sea Life Park during Mano Week was such a fulfilling experience. I spent the day sharing ocean and shark conservation information while showcasing the VR experience I helped develop through NOAA. Watching kids and families put on the headset and suddenly become part of the research environment was honestly my favorite part. Their reactions were priceless...wide-eyed, curious, and full of questions.

What made it meaningful to me was realizing that technology can make science more approachable. Instead of just telling people about NOAA’s research, I got to let them experience it. I loved seeing students get excited about STEM and hearing them say things like “I want to work here someday!”

Volunteering at Ocean Day in Waimea Valley was such a cool experience. The cultural setting, especially seeing the kalo terraces, made it feel special and connected to the land. I shared our VR experience with visitors and helped lead an echolocation activity for students, which was a hit. It was fun watching their faces light up as they learned and explored. I loved connecting with everyone and left feeling inspired and grateful for the opportunity.
