The group of volunteers and staff at Outward Bound (Shift #3) overnight were fantastic, and we had great synergy helping runners, pacers, and crew get the items and questions answers they wanted / needed efficiently. We rotated duties and helped with water bottle fills, preparing hot beverages, ramen, instant mashed potatoes, and broth, resupplying items, collecting, sorting, and disposing of garbage and recyclables, directing to drop bags, and medical teams, as well as cleaning up and packing up the aid station. I worked at the aid station from 8:20 p.m. on 08/19 to 4:05 a.m. on 08/20/2023.

It would be great to have the updated shuttle and parking information available for race participants a few days in advance of the event so that volunteer staff can better field questions for racers, crew, pacers, and spectators. A paper packet with the updated information was handed to the expo info volunteers a half an hour after the expo started. Having a contact phone number for a lead staff member (Tylor in this case) for each volunteer opportunity would be helpful in case any questions arise (especially around some of the more obscure volunteer opportunities). I arrived at 10 a.m. and stayed after my shift ended (until 5:30 p.m.) to help with expo disassembly with other volunteers.
