I was surprised to hear more about the academic pathways in this semester. I think the polls were pretty fun to check if people were listening. I was also surprised that everyone got one question right because there's usually someone who tries to answer wrong on purpose. It was good splitting up the presentation between the three of them. The reminder to use the right GroupMe topics was also smart.

I really liked this session! I have ADHD so I'm really bad at planning my finances. I also got really overwhelmed recently because I was planning get a car and go to school and have to move out. It was crazy on top of going to school and so now I'm going to also look at more FEC sessions at school. I will also share the screenshots I took.
This event was part of the STEM collegian center when we went to Morgan State University to tour. Because there is a bridge program in this university, students from the research program were also a part of it. I think it was a pretty cool trip since I've never seen Morgan State. I was thinking about visiting there and since I have no car, getting there would be hard so this was a perfect opportunity! I got to meet students and even one student who did do the bridge program. The campus is way bigger than PGCC's which made me put things into perspective. I would like to go there for another event to see more of students since we really only visited a couple buildings.
I attended an art league meeting since I am interested in drawing. This was a nice meeting to get to know some people, we played a game similarly to Pictionary and had teams. It was fun but I barely knew any Pokemon so that was hard! We also talked about future events like maybe sidewalk chalk art and I would be so excited to participate in that. I think I want to do something Steven Universe themed. There was also talks about a future field trip to a DC museum. I hope I can make it. I'll be attending future meetings, this was so fun.
I loved this session. Mr. Hamlin has a great inspirational speaking voice. The students who spoke up and talked about their tips on how they keep going and keep themselves accountable were all great. I think the person who made a group chat for the STRIVE members to keep in contact is smart. That idea is so cute and allows us to connect outside of the groupme groupchat since Instagram is way more accessible in my opinion.
This was a useful training session. People asked good questions like making sure they used the right email and name. I used to be confused why the location was different on my end and I wouldn't be able to find the events under the special scholarships at PGCC. I definitely do agree though that the website is easier to log impacts under than on the app.
I had participated in the STRIVE Faculty Mentorship Program- Vision Yourself Meet & Greet. I was surprised to recognize other mentors that I've met at PGCC. I got a chance to meet Dr. Snowden in person this time. I also drew a vision board about my personal goals I put things like reconnect, rediscover and refine on my board. I wanted to see who I was outside of school, I feel like yes, while knowing I am a good student, I like to also find what my strengths are outside of school. I put goals like being more involved with politics and learning new languages. I also met other people who had Dr. Snowden as a mentor and we were able to talk about what they wanted to do and what they were currently doing to prepare. This was a nice event, Dr. Snowden listened to me about academic and personal problems. We also talked about what it meant to be a leader and it was nice seeing what the other students thought up because there were some things that I would've never thought about what made a leader.
I did my best trying to answer questions that my peers had in the chat while they spoke for the meeting. There wasn't anything really new, and I already registered for spring and I'm just waiting for my mom to finish her end of the FAFSA so I'll definitely have to tell her. For spring I'm just going to be attending one class because I'll be graduating the end of that semester. Very quick and straight to the point meeting. Next spring though they recommended going to the in-person store because I can get help quicker which I agreed with.
