Today reminded me how much life can open up when I simply decide to show up. I went to volunteer at an Maple Grove Nursing & Rehabilitation Center and what I thought would just be a good deed turned into something way deeper. Talking to them, just sitting with their stories and their presence. It cracked something open in me. I felt raw, but not in a bad way. It felt like being reminded of what really matters: time, connection, patience, legacy. And somehow, just being there felt like I was stepping into my purpose. Like this is the kind of work my spirit has always been calling me toward.
Making cards for Alzheimer’s patients I didn’t know was an unexpectedly profound experience. It reminded me how small gestures can ripple out in ways we may never fully witness or understand. Crafting these cards required me to think about what truly matters when words alone may not reach someone in the same way. I found myself focusing on simple, heartfelt messages—words of love, warmth, and reassurance. I wanted the messages to be clear and timeless, to communicate a sense of connection without the need for names or memories.
Today, I participated in a community service event with my organization, and it was a fulfilling experience. We worked together as a team, making a tangible impact in our community while also connecting with one another on a deeper level. Throughout the day, I felt a sense of purpose as we tackled each task, knowing our efforts were directly benefiting others.
