My mom started her own business selling jewelry over a year ago, and now she also offers permanent jewelry. While I was home during Easter break, I was able to go with her and my younger brother to a market with them where she set up her booth. It was really cool to see her talk about her products, and tell the customers how permanent jewelry works. I helped her set up and tear down, while also talking to potential clients when she walked away for a few minutes. She seems very passionate about it, and I love being a part of that journey. She is opening her own location, which will be helpful for her because she won't have to drive so much. I am really proud of her for taking this leap of faith in herself and her work.

I was with a group of three people, and a volunteer from the Festival Beach Food Forest. Our group learned how to plant a tree and other plants. These are skills that one would think are known by everyone, but it turns out that the other two students and me had never really planted anything before. It was really cool to get to meet new people and chat while actively helping the food forest on campus. I hope I am able to help out during other garden workdays.
