I participated in an event where we made cards for sick veterans. This project was especially meaningful to me because my mom is a disabled veteran, so it felt personal and gave me a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices veterans make. Creating encouraging messages reminded me that small acts of kindness can have a significant impact on someone's day. It was rewarding to know that the cards could bring comfort and support to veterans who may be facing difficult circumstances. Overall, the experience helped me reflect on the importance of showing gratitude to those who have served and inspired me to continue finding ways to give back to the veteran community.
I volunteered with OKC Beautiful, where we helped clean up a park in Oklahoma City. It was an eye‑opening event. In just three hours, we ended up removing 28,000 pounds of trash from the riverside. It was a fun and interesting experience.
volunteered with NSBE at LoveWorks' annual Cookie Fest event. The purpose of the event is to raise money to keep all of LoveWorks' programs free for the community. We helped with event operations and worked to ensure everything ran smoothly throughout the day. LoveWorks has a special place in my heart, so I am always grateful for the opportunity to volunteer with such an amazing organization and support the incredible work they do.
Every year, the FIRST Robotics Competition hosts a kickoff event to reveal the season's game and challenges. I joined the Jack Yates High School robotics team as a volunteer mentor to help students brainstorm strategies during and after the game reveal. As an alumnus of the team, this experience was especially meaningful because it gave me the opportunity to give back to a program that had such a positive impact on me. It was rewarding to help guide students through the initial design process, encourage creative thinking, and share lessons I learned during my time on the team. Seeing their excitement and innovative ideas reminded me of why I loved being a part of robotics, and it was fulfilling to support the next generation of students as they begin their season.
NSBE along with BMIS and BGWC participate in the annual Fall Fest event with Love works. Fall Fest is a Halloween event where over 10,000 people come every year. We created a interactive game in which children can play to win candy.
