I am only disappointed I couldn't do more than I did. I genuinely had an amazing time and to be with a group so determined for change and optimistic about the future was truly amazing. The energy was great and the results were even better. In the few hours we were there we cleaned, lifted, and painted (I wish I had the after pictures of the seating and post area that were painted).
Very fun experience!
This past weekend we went back to the very first garden I started working at and the task for that day was to pull weeds around the strawberries and plant kale and marigolds. While we were pulling the weeds we noticed it was this garlic and onion mix as well as we learned about "shooting plants". Once again, another successful day of gardening!
My group planted green bell peppers, egg plants, eucalyptus, and cucumbers today. Many of us had no prior gardening experience but gained amazing knowledge and successfully planted our veggies with the help of our amazing group leaders and event organizers.

Although we were not able to lay down the gravel as we had intended to, we were able to lay down all the pavers we had and clear out the surrounding area for future projects.
In the end it was a great day of service.
