Judging at the MCEC Competition for North Carolina’s 6th District DECA wasn’t just another volunteer experience—it genuinely felt meaningful. Seeing students present their ideas and navigate business scenarios with real confidence impressed me. Some arrived nervous, but it was clear they’d put in a lot of work—there was plenty of creativity and professionalism, and their preparation was obvious.

As a judge, I offered feedback and encouragement. I appreciated being able to help and motivate students to go further. The experience reminded me why supporting young people is important—they’re motivated already, but a bit of support makes a big difference. DECA allows students to build confidence, develop business skills, and explore possible futures. I’m glad I was able to contribute, even in a small way.
