My mentor group pitched in money to buy waters, burgers, and socks. Once we were able to get coordinated, we walked around west campus giving the homeless socks to stay warm, food to reduce hunger, and water to eliminate thirst. Overall my experience was a very rewarding one. I was able to give back to my community in a very rewarding way.
I had a wonderful time helping out with the pumpkin patch. I constantly had a smile on my face. It was nice to be around a different age group. I worked in the fishing booth. The children would throw the line and essentially catch a prize. I loved how they would get excited when they won a price. I helped keep order in front of the booth.
I volunteered at the Cockrell School of
Engineering career fair known as EXPO. As a volunteer I was responsible of maintaining the multipurpose room. I organized the snacks and drinks for the corporation recruiters, and I was able to assist them in anything else they may have needed at that moment.
