9/11 Day of Service

Friday, September 11th, 2020 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm

About

9/11 Day of Service is the first of four large days of service that the Center for Leadership & Civic Engagement offers throughout the year. In observance of the federally-recognized September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance, known today as "9/11 Day," we dedicate time to help others in the spirit of service, unity and peace, in tribute to the victims of 9/11 and terrorism worldwide, first responders, and the many who have risen in service to defend freedom.

Due to COVID-19, we will NOT be having a large kick-off event but volunteers will sign up for individual service sites and transport themselves to that site. There are some sites that are within walking distance to campus, are taking place on campus, and there are also virtual options available. Each site (shift) will have their own requirements and instructions but all volunteers will be required to wear a mask, which will be provided. Reflection will take place virtually on your own time after you serve. A CLCE staff member will check you in at your service site and provide a snack bag and personal protective equipment (PPE).
You should only register for ONE service site (shift).

Should you have any questions please feel free to reach out to Alex Dennis, Assistant Director in CLCE - dennisa15@ecu.edu.
