Calling volunteers in Austin who love trees and pollinators! Help make the 2021 Roots & Wings Festival a fun and engaging event for people of all ages, by volunteering at Zilker Botanical Garden for the kickoff celebration!
What is the Roots & Wings Festival? It is a community-wide celebration honoring Arbor Day and Monarch Appreciation Day in Austin. Multiple city departments and community partners come together each year to plan this event with the goal of reaching nature lovers of all ages across Austin.
The event takes place from October 24th - November 6th, 2021, with the kickoff celebration happening at Zilker Botanical on October 24th!
Please sign up for a shift of your choice. Please arrive to your shift on time to receive instructions for your shift. Also, please have a mask handy when you are unable to be distanced from other volunteers or festival participants, and a refillable water bottle.
Parking instructions are included in the "parking detail" section. Google map of the approximate location is here. Signage will be posted to guide you to the check-in point.

Requirement Details
Wondering if you should volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:
- Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.
- Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.
Parking Details
Please park at the Stratford Lot (roughly 2300 Stratford Dr.). Signage will be posted to guide you to the lot and to the back Zilker entrance where you will report for your shift. Someone will be posted at the back gate entrance to provide instructions.
