The Southwood Neighborhood Association Williamson Creek Adopters, an Adopt-a-Creek Group, will meet at the curb by the Emerald Wood Community Garden/Tom Donovan Nature Trail at Williamson Creek Central Greenbelt at 611 Emerald Wood Drive and walk down to Williamson Creek together. We will be working to help clean up the section of the creek we adopted to honor the legacy and continue the stewardship of Tom Donovan. Please join us. We will have trash bags and pickup tools available to borrow. Please register via the GivePulse website, so we know who to expect and so we can show our neighborhood’s involvement in honoring Tom. This work day will focus on trash removal from Williamson Creek. Parking is on-street, so carpooling is recommended if possible. There is Poison ivy in the area, so you may want to wear pants and bring your work gloves. Please wear closed-toe shoes. Hope to see y’all there!

Mark your calendars! To promote safe and fun volunteer activities, we developed Love Where You Live Day, an event that invites individuals and small groups to beautify the areas around their homes and neighborhoods every second Saturday of the month.

We had an awesome crew of volunteers! Thank you for all of your hard work. Y'all went above and beyond despite the oppressing humidity. Thanks to your hard work there are 30 bags of trash and 300 pounds of bulk garbage no longer in the creek. Every piece of trash we picked up makes a difference to help heal Williamson Creek which runs through the heart of our neighborhood. You all should be very proud of the stewardship you provided. Thank you! - Anna
