About
Make a difference in our community by supporting early childhood literacy! Family Play Festival features games and activities for caregivers and young children from birth to age 5. Activities at the festival are designed to build early literacy skills in children and encourage families to support their growth.
Volunteers connect with children and their caregivers and engage them in playing, singing, writing, and talking activities in Spanish and English. Volunteers encourage participants so they can continue to practice literacy activities at home after attending the event.
English and Spanish speaking volunteers needed. Fluency not required. Volunteers who speak functional English and/or Spanish who would like to practice their skills are encouraged to sign up. Instructions to volunteers will be provided in English.
Time commitment: Volunteers are invited to sign up for any available shifts. Shifts are 3-5 hours long. Please remember to double check the specific location and time of your shifts. If you sign up to volunteer, please plan to show up and stay for the duration of the shift!
Language skills: Volunteers need to be able to communicate and understand instructions in English. Ability to connect with community members in both English and Spanish is strongly desired.
