About
Please come join us to clean up the creek that runs through Red Bluff Preserve in East Austin! You can make a big impact for the environment and wildlife by helping remove trash from this creek.
This is the first creek clean up with Friends of Red Bluff, and we will focus on lighter items like fabrics and plastic that need removing from the trees and rocks along the creek.
The creek is currently mostly dry, and August is a great time to take advantage of that to walk along and clean it.
All participants need to be over 18 years old, due to the nature of working with litter and the creek terrain.
Afterwards you may want to walk 10 minutes to the top of Red Bluff to look at the spectacular city view.
Please note that because we'll be working with trash, it's best to dress for this type of event. There are some rusty items, tires and lots of fabrics (rugs, sheets, tarps). The creek bed is free of poison ivy, but there may be spots along the edges that could have some; we will point out what to avoid.
- Long pants to protect you from bulky items
- mud boots or sturdy shoes that can get wet
- hats
- comfortable shirt
- your favorite tough work gloves (we will have some extras to lend)
- insect repellent, optional
- sunscreen
- Please also bring a bottle of water.
We will provide some snacks, jugs of water, trash grabbers, bags and other clean up tools.

Hi. I will need to cancel my registration due to feeling under the weather. I'll keep checking the calendar for more opportunities. Thank you so much for arranging this!
