About
Come on over to Red Bluff Preserve! It's a fairly new Austin Parks property with a fantastic city view on top of the bluff, and you'll want to come back for sunset views sometime. It also needs LOTS of love to bring it to its full potential: starting with cleaning bulky trash and smaller trash alike. Event hosted for the Phoenix Group!
We'll need some strong helpers for removal of illegally dumped bulky items (including a refrigerator & tires), and also helpers to pick up lots of trash in the open woods and/or in the shallow clear creek. The part of the preserve we will focus on this time will be the lowlands near the creek.
The terrain is pretty easy walking, and much vegetation has been cleared out of the way already.
Together we will make a big difference to get this preserve in good shape!
Please note that because we'll be working with trash, it's best to dress for this type of event. There are some rusty items and other odds and ends. There are occasional spots of poison ivy, so please be sure to wear long pants and closed-toed tough shoes! It is fairly clear, but still some poison ivy does exist.
