About

What is Research Rendezvous? Each year, middle school and high school students in Boulder and throughout the USA research various topics related to local, regional, national, or world history for National History Day. Research Rendezvous is a program at Boulder Public Library designed to support students who are working on research projects by connecting them with skilled volunteers at research sessions offered at various library locations. This year’s theme invites students to consider questions of time and place, cause and effect, change over time, and impact and significance.

What do volunteers do? Support students as they build research skills and learn to appreciate history. Model curiosity and resourcefulness. Volunteers work one-on-one with students in 30-minute in-person sessions to help them form research questions, identify sources, and execute various parts of their project. Volunteers must be welcoming and willing to engage with students of all backgrounds.

Our volunteer spots are full for this opportunity! Please consider volunteering with Research Rendezvous in December 2025 / January 2026.
