Volunteer Oxford MLK Day of Service

Monday, January 20th, 2025 from 9:30am to 12:00pm
This has ended. If you attended, let the organizer know by recording your Impact!

About

Honor the legacy of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr and support one of our many local community partners.  Right here on campus, we will:

  1. Remove invasive species from the Dried Indian Creek Trail behind the Oxford College Farm.
  2. Assist Giving Hands Food Pantry with organizing and sorting items in the food pantry to help prepare for more incoming items.
  3. Organize and process donations with the Salvation Army. This will greatly help the large influx of items during this season.
  4. Assist at, Best Friends Farm, local animal sanctuary for farm animals. You'll get the opportunity to help create a safe, healthy living space for them.

We will meet in the Greer Forum at the Oxford Student Center at 9:30 am to check in, learn about Volunteer Oxford, and then disperse to our different projects. After our projects are complete, participants are encouraged to grab lunch in the dining hall and join us in the Deans Dining Room for post-event reflection together.
