About
Join us at the farm – come get your hands dirty with us as we work alongside youth leaders to grow thousands of pounds of food for our community!
📌 NOTE: EACH VOLUNTEER MUST BE REGISTERED INDIVIDUALLY BEFORE ARRIVING TO THE FARM. Minors must be registered by a parent or legal guardian.
We invite you to spend meaningful time with our community and visit our East farm located minutes from Austin’s downtown. You will soak up the sun, get a little muddy, and help support our mission of farming to grow young minds and cultivate tomorrow’s leaders. Approximately 90% of the produce we grow is donated to improve food access for our neighbors in need, and the other 10% is sold locally to wholesale and restaurant partners.
🌱 Our team will teach you what you need to know to help us grow thousands of pounds of fresh food! Our farm needs volunteers to nurture, plant, cultivate, and harvest vegetables and prepare them for our neighbors. All you need are close-toed shoes and a water bottle, we have the rest!
Please read the information on the registration page for our volunteer agreement and waiver. You may contact us at volunteer@urbanrootsatx.org with any questions or concerns.
Age Requirement: Our minimum age to volunteer is 13 years old. Children who are 13 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
Minors who are 14-17 years old who are not accompanied by a parent/guardian must have a signed parental consent form on file with Urban Roots. Follow the link to download and complete the parental consent form for youth volunteers (form is in English and Spanish): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HfK5RHdI7TejdOclIZyT_hgvzLQ_yDBv/view?ts=6706ed58
