About

Join us on the East farm for our Summer Open House Series - our family-friendly kick-off event for Summer! ☀️

Enjoy delicious lite bites featuring Urban Roots vegetables prepared by youth leaders in the Summer Farm Program working with local chefs Peter Klein, Head Chef at Holiday and Jess Simpkin, Chef de Cuisine at L'Oca d'Oro.

We will have several stations around the farm for you to explore while learning more about our work directly from the youth!

Join us for:

🥕 Youth-led tasting stations showcasing their culinary skills in partnership with Chef Peter and Chef Jess!

🥾 Farm tours to get familiar with our mission and our greatest teacher, the land!

👁️ Up-close experiences with our vegetables

🆓 This event is free and registration is open to everyone! Whether it’s your first visit or you’re a regular, come enjoy a beautiful day with the Urban Roots crew.

We look forward to seeing you on the farm, please wear close-toed shoes you don't mind getting a little dirty!

We do want to highly encourage carpooling, biking, public transport, or ridesharing as much as possible to be more sustainable and alleviate traffic. If you are biking to the farm, we have an exit off of the Walnut Creek bike trail and have a bike rack located on the farm premises to store and lock up bikes.
