About

Are you ready for a morning of service and learning? This will be a hybrid session of educational programs and outdoor service with your Austin Park Rangers. For the work, we'll be mulching trees and picking up trash along Peace Point and the Butler Hike and Bike Trail. For the learning, we'll give presentations about reptiles, Leave No Trace, and the history of Peace Point and the Colorado River. Meet us at the Lakeshore Ranger Station from 9am-12pm Saturday March 7th. 2200 S Lakeshore Blvd Austin, TX 78741. Bring a water bottle, snacks, and dress for the weather. Parking is limited, expect to park along the road and walk to the address. Alternative transportation recommended.

You'll receive the warm fuzzy feelings from giving back and the brain tingling goodness from learning and yes, you'll get your It's My Park Day t-shirt. People protect what they love. People love what they understand. People understand what they are taught. That's why we teach people about the parks! You're still reading, nice. Also at this project - and in addition to the warm fuzzies, you'll also get to experience....the cold scalys....from touching.....live reptiles! That's right, we'll have some live reptiles. See you there!
