About

Join Georgia State alumni, faculty, staff, and students for a hands‑on service project at GSU’s Student Center—featuring the creation of a community mural on campus. This volunteer opportunity is part of a broader effort to beautify GSU’s campus while bringing people together through art.

Step into an immersive, collaborative, and therapeutic mural‑making experience designed to spark community, connection, and creativity. Each session begins with 10 minutes of Mindful Mural Preparation, helping participants set personal intentions, ground themselves, and tap into the calming, restorative power of art. Afterward, volunteers will head to the mural site to bring the design to life through vibrant, collective painting.

No experience is needed. All materials are provided—just bring your curiosity, your creativity, and your willingness to connect. Be part of something beautiful.

Please meet in Student Center East, Room 217 at the start of your shift before walking together to the mural site near Saxbys.

*Please only sign up for one shift.

About the Hosts

The Office of the University Ombudsperson serves as a confidential and neutral resource dedicated to fairness, integrity, and treating all members of the GSU community with dignity. By coaching individuals through challenging situations and teaching constructive conflict management, they facilitate the difficult conversations necessary for a vibrant and respectful campus culture. Through this collaboration, they provide the communication tools and restorative practices that allow students to lead and serve with empathy and resilience.

The Office of Leadership & Service empowers Georgia State students to grow as leaders, engage meaningfully in their communities and take action on the issues that matter most to them. Through workshops, cohort programs, service experiences, and civic engagement and voting initiatives, they create opportunities for students to build skills, connect with others and make a lasting impact. Their programs are rooted in values of innovation, care, equity and collaboration, and they are committed to helping students graduate not only with knowledge, but with purpose.
