About

Join Georgia State alumni, faculty, staff and students for a service project at Atlanta Community Food Bank. This volunteer opportunity focuses on providing support to fight hunger by engaging, educating and empowering our community.

Thank you for joining us at the Hunger Action Center to makes a huge impact. Volunteers will help sort and pack donated food, repackage bulk produce and grains, and prepare boxes of groceries for seniors across Georgia.

It’s hands-on and active, but don’t worry, they keep it upbeat, full of good energy, and music that keeps things moving. No experience is needed. They will train you when you arrive. Leave with the satisfaction of knowing you helped put food on someone’s table.

The mission of Atlanta Community Food Bank is to fight hunger by engaging, educating and empowering our community. They work with nearly 700 community-based partners—including food pantries, community kitchens, childcare centers, shelters, and senior centers—to distribute an average of 10.3 million pounds of food each month, or approximately 9 million+ meals to our neighbors who are food insecure in 29 counties across metro Atlanta and north Georgia. They are the fourth largest food bank in the country, by distribution volume, and are a member of Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity.
