About

Join us for GSU Earth Day: For The People, a campus-wide celebration of sustainability, community, and collective care. This event is designed to help students see how environmental action connects to our everyday lives and the communities we are part of.

As a volunteer, you will play an important role in creating a welcoming, engaging, and interactive experience for fellow students. Volunteers will support a range of activities across the event, including:

  • Assisting with event set-up and breakdown
  • Supporting interactive sustainability stations (Green Station, Sustainable Swag, and more)
  • Helping distribute materials and guide students through activities
  • Welcoming attendees and assisting with check-in
  • Supporting community partners and tabling organizations
  • Facilitating and overseeing lawn games and interactive activities in the central event space
  • Capturing photos and short-form video content throughout the event to help document and share the experience

Volunteers supporting games will help create a lively, welcoming atmosphere by encouraging participation, explaining how activities work, and helping students move through the space with ease.

Volunteers supporting content capture will help tell the story of the day by highlighting student engagement, interactive moments, and the overall energy of the event. This may include candid photos, short video clips, and quick student reactions that will be used for social media and future storytelling.

This is a great opportunity to earn service hours, build leadership experience, and contribute to a campus event that centers people, community, and shared responsibility for our environment.

What you’ll gain:

  • Hands-on experience supporting a large-scale campus event
  • Opportunities to connect with community partners and student leaders
  • A deeper understanding of sustainability in practice
  • Experience facilitating engagement through games and interactive activities
  • Real-world experience in social media content creation and storytelling
  • Service hours tracked through GivePulse

Shifts:
Volunteers can sign up for one-hour shifts throughout the event. You are welcome to sign up for multiple shifts if your schedule allows.
