About

Help harvest fruit and reduce black bear encroachment!
Join us for a lovely morning picking apples and plums in a pocket park near the center of town. This is a chance to protect people and bears alike by keeping available food sources in the city, like urban fruit trees, clear of the tempting fruits that draw many black bears into town.
Once our work is done, we'll divvy up the spoils and take home some delicious fruit!

What Volunteers Should Be Able to Do

  • Use of vision or other observational skills to identify different plant materials.
  • Manipulate and handle small items and sort organic materials.

  • Stay aware of surroundings and follow outdoor safety guidance.

  • Dress for the weather.
  • Closed toed shoes, boots or sneakers are required.
  • A light snack will be provided (bring additional nutrition if needed).
