About
The ECU Center For Leadership & Civic Engagement is pleased to announce the inaugural Hungry for Change Conference happening on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the East Carolina University Main Campus Student Center. The theme for the conference is “From Awareness to Action.”
This conference was created to raise awareness of food insecurity on college campuses and bring together students, institutions, and community partners to develop practical strategies and implement tangible solutions that address hunger at ECU and throughout the region.
We need some volunteers to assist with different aspects of the conference. We ask that volunteers wear business casual attire, if possible, but not required. Otherwise you can wear a Purple Pantry t-shirt. If you need a Purple Pantry t-shirt, feel free to stop by the Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement in MCSC 208 to pick one up prior to the conference.
All volunteers will report to the conference check-in tables on the second floor of the Main Campus Student Center outside the Ballrooms for your shift. You will then be given as assignment and instructions for your volunteer shift. We appreciate the assistance!
If you have any questions you can email Alex Dennis at dennisa15@ecu.edu.
