I enjoyed volunteering at the East White Oak Community Center, it was a great opportunity. The community center is a historical part of Greensboro. We helped to organized and unpacked canned foods for families who are in need and spoke with members of the East White Oak Community.
I am the Community Service chair for the National Society of Leadership and Success and today we partnered with the East White Oak Community Center. At the community center we made posters to go in the garden that is used to grow food to help with the decrease of food insecurity. We also worked in the pantry and sorted the canned goods that will be distributed throughout Greensboro!
Volunteering at the East White Oak Community Center was an informative and fulfilling experience. Alongside the other volunteers, I had the opportunity to help stock and take inventory of donated food items. While we worked, we learned more about the history of the building and the other work that this organization was doing.
During this service event, we made posters for the garden produce as well as counted the inventory of different groceries.
