It was overall a positive experience. I think it would be helpful to have a larger area for the athletes to come in and get food/water assistance and better role/responsibility designation could help prevent idle volunteers.
We only ran out of coffee and did awesome with only one hot water ladle.
Maria, Dilly & I were at the bottom of Powerline where the course goes from dirt to pavement / CO 300. Had a great time while being entertaining & encouraging to runners. Dilly had the tunes/vibes & costumes while Maria had the coolest dance moves & encouraging words. Before we went to sleep we drove the course back to Aid Station 2: Outward Bound. Found four people; two continued racing & two were waiting at Leadville National Fish Hatchery to be picked up by Search & Rescue / Medical - they got picked up.
I was especially impressed with the young staff who were so dedicated and clearly working through little rest to make the event work.
