Today due to Spring Break for the kids we had a chill day, teaching them games like Chess, Checkers, and the Greensboro edition of monopoly; Greensboropoly.
Being able to see the kids improve in skills such as communication, creativity, etc every week is very heartwarming and i'm glad that i get to be alongside the as they are creating core memories.

Today I quizzed students on geography and participated in the empowerment exercise. We practiced positive affirmations to say to ourselves in the mirror.
I loved today's activity of empowerment, because over the past couple of weeks hearing the students beat themselves up over getting a math problem or mispronouncing a word wrong really broke my heart. But, hearing them say self encouraging words today really was beautiful.
